The Eridanus Gambit
Squadron Composition
Somewhere deep in the Beta Quadrant, along the tumultuous Federation border with the Gorn Hegemony, lies the enigmatic planet Eridanus. Eridanus, known for its strategic importance and valuable resources, has long been a symbol of stability and cooperation in the region. However, now, it has inexplicably fallen silent, raising alarming concerns within Starfleet.
Formed in the aftermath of Frontier Day 2401, Lakota Squadron is composed of four starships capable of carrying out the various roles and responsibilities dictated by the mandate of the United Federation of Planets. The composition of vessels assigned to the squadron is such that virtually any objective can be completed, whether within the confines of Federation space, or far from safety in far-flung areas of the known galaxy.

With no communication or data transmission from the planet for weeks, the Federation fears the worst—an imminent Gorn incursion into the Eridanus system, a prospect that could ignite a powder keg of conflict in the already tense border region.

Amidst this backdrop of uncertainty, the newly assembled Lakota Squadron – the starships Lakota, Buran and Osiris – stands poised for its maiden mission—an exploratory expedition to the uncharted depths of the galaxy. The squadron, under the command of Fleet Captain Keziah Nazir, is brimming with anticipation for their journey into the unknown. New orders soon arrive, however, as Lakota Squadron is tasked to investigate the eerie silence of Eridanus and discern the truth behind its darkened status.
