This article is official Bravo Fleet Official Policy.

A campaign is a club-wide event with a primary focus on writing and storytelling. Managed by the Intelligence Office, they cover a key event in Bravo Fleet canon, usually revolving around some sort of crisis or emergency situation necessitating the response of the ships and officers of the Fourth Fleet. Any member is welcome to participate in accordance with the event guidelines, writing on their Avatar Command or Task Force HQ.

One campaign occurs alongside the annual Fleet Action, sharing its name and giving members an opportunity to write as they take part in the Fleet Action's competitions. Others during the year are stand-alone events, and while competitions may be offered that share the campaign's themes and ideas, there is no fleet-wide competition and are merely for members' enjoyment.

Campaigns are hosted on BFMS, with a fleet-wide Mission created where every member can house their Stories or their Command's own campaign-specific Mission. The Campaign Mission includes a detailed briefing that explains the In Character situation facing the Fourth Fleet, and offers writers Out of Character guidelines on how to participate. Briefings usually include suggested plot hooks, including how junior officers without their own Command can potentially participate.

As such, participation simply requires writing Stories on BFMS attached to the campaign Mission. The Intel Office usually releases weekly updates summarising the events of every participating Mission so members can easily keep track of events. Key plot points will be conveyed by fiction releases from the Intel Office, including events mid-campaign that progress the storyline, or in updates to the Mission briefing.

Campaigns normally run between six and ten weeks. Task Forces may be responsible for individual sub-plots, which are usually opt-in storylines themed around the unit's IC mandate, and on those occasions Task Force Staff will, in addition to their personal activity on their Avatar Commands, produce Task Force-specific stories advancing those plotlines.

The fundamental premise of a campaign is to offer a wide scenario which provides multiple simultaneous storytelling opportunities. It rarely includes one 'hero ship' saving the day, and usually focuses upon a region of the galaxy in some sort of crisis that requires a multi-faceted approach.

Fleet Action campaigns

Fleet Actions include a campaign, the two sharing a name and a storyline. While the Fleet Action plot is explored and expanded through competitions and Intel Office releases, members also have the opportunity to contribute to the story. The campaign is distinct from many other Fleet Action activities in that it does not in itself contribute to the FA's scoring or overall competition between members and Task Forces. FA competitions may include writing that draws from campaign participation or the plotline, but writing alone does not contribute to FA scores.

The FA campaign, due to the significance of the annual event, is normally of much higher IC stakes and is more likely to be a galaxy-wide situation.

Stand-alone campaigns

Other campaigns are focused almost exclusively on the storyline. Competitions run at the same time are an opportunity to involve the whole organisation in a key event in Fleet Canon, but are not inherently different to any other normal competition.

Stand-alone campaign storylines tend to focus on a specific region of the galaxy. While urgent, they are usually of much lower-stakes than the FA campaign. They are normally what is meant when one refers to 'a campaign' and tend to be named 'the [something] campaign,' in contrast to more distinctive names of a FA.

List of Campaigns

Campaign 0: The Osiris Initiative

11 April 2020 to 24 April 2020

The Osiris Initiative was a conference held on Starbase Bravo where admirals and captains of the Fourth Fleet convened to discuss the fleet's new mandate to expand Starfleet involvement beyond internal affairs for the first time since the Attack on Mars. Its primary purpose was to serve as an In Character introduction to the many changes to Fleet Canon with the transition to 2399 and the events of Picard.

The Osiris Initiative was not formally a campaign, but established and followed many conventions of what would become these fleet-wide events. It is listed as 'Campaign 0' to recognise its place in Bravo Fleet history and the development of the concept. It was hosted on the old Bravo Fleet forums.

Campaign I: The Archanis Campaign

13 February 2021 to 25 April 2021

The first Bravo Fleet Campaign, the Archanis Campaign was a response to raids on Federation territory by the Hunters of D'Ghor. It was a stand-alone campaign. It was hosted on the old Bravo Fleet forums, though many of its Stories have been transferred to BFMS.

Fleet Action II: Echoes of the Tkon

24 July 2021 to 17 September 2021

The second Bravo Fleet Campaign, Echoes of the Tkon was a part of the 2021 Fleet Action, in which the Fourth Fleet responded to galaxy-wide manifestations of Omega molecules and the ensuing mystery of the involvement of the Tkon Empire.

Campaign III: The Stormbreaker Campaign

5 February 2022 to 20 March 2022

The third Bravo Fleet Campaign, The Stormbreaker Campaign is a response to the humanitarian crisis of the Century Storm striking the Paulson Nebula. It was a stand-alone campaign.

Fleet Action III: Sundered Wings

28 May 2022 to 11 July 2022.

The fourth Bravo Fleet Campaign, Sundered Wings was part of the 2022 Fleet Action, in which the Fourth Fleet responded to the crisis in the Velorum Sector upon the collapse of the Star Empire of Rator.

Campaign V: Blood Dilithium

1 November 2022 to 11 December 2022.

The fifth Bravo Fleet Campaign, Blood Dilithium explored the Fourth Fleet's response to the manifestation of Blood Dilithium in the Gradin Belt, triggering a 'gold rush' and political and humanitarian crisis. This campaign was organised and hosted by the staff of Task Force 17.

Fleet Action IV: The Lost Fleet

6 May 2023 to 18 June 2023

The sixth Bravo Fleet campaign, The Lost Fleet was part of the first 2023 Fleet Action, in which the Fourth Fleet responded to the invasion of the lost Dominion Fleet, transplanted from the Bajoran Wormhole during the war in 2375 to suddenly attack the Deneb Sector in 2401.
