Typhon Squadron
Typhon Wayfinding Division is a division of Fourth Fleet operating under Task Force 47 under the command of Fleet Captain Anyanka Harrison.
Consisting of two separate divisions operating on opposite sides of the Federation, the squadron aims to develop the initial promise of exploration and first contact into a secure footing for expansion into the wild frontier. Typhon Squadron is focused on pathfinding efforts where independent communities, be they large or small, present benefits to Starfleet's strategic and exploratory efforts over resource or territorial expansion aims.

Composition
Typhon Wayfinding Division
Operating along the precarious and politically charged Klingon/Gorn border, Typhon division is tasked with expanding and solidifying the Federation's presence between these two militaristic polities. Intended to be a forerunner to a larger Starfleet effort, Typhon Division is tasked with charting a route through the dangerous region and out into the unexplored regions beyond. Given the tense ongoing relations with both parties and the strong possibility of armed conflict, the division's vessels have a greater tactical lean than normally deployed by Starfleet to pathfinding but their scientific shortcomings are considered an acceptable compromise considering the region.
USS Typhon
USS Typhon , a Typhon-class Carrier, is the flagship of the Typhon Wayfinding Squadron acting as a central point of command and control for the squadrons various missions. Currently leading a division into the largely unexplored region beyond the Klingon/Gorn border, Typhon keeps in contact with the squadron at large via a number of advanced deep space communications tools. In addition to her plethora of auxiliary craft, including a wing of Valkyrie class fighters, Typhon boasts extensive stores and expanded pattern buffers for the storage of raw materials and supplies, as well as hosting a surprising number of leisure facilities as part of her design. As the division adventures into the unknown she acts as a hub for the their detached service as well as a redoubtable fortress should the need arise.
USS Circe
USS Circe, a Steamrunner-class heavy frigate is the engineering hub of the wayfinding Division. With a number of refits to her engineering labs, replicator systems and with a consignment of officers from the Starfleet Engineering Corps aboard, Circe acts as a fabrication hub for whatever the division's missions may require. Advanced transporter based storage systems combined with industrial fabricators allow Circe to perform a wide variety of construction services, including deep space repairs for the division when necessary.
USS Daedalus
USS Daedalus is a Rhode Island-class Scout assigned to the Typhon Division for advanced reconnaissance and surveying operations ahead of the main contingent. Utilising her high speed and advanced sensor arrays, Daedalus moves ahead of the main division to chart deep space routes for dangers and locations of interest. Often separated from the other division members for extended periods of time as it reconnoitres, the ship has developed a reputation for adaptability and inventiveness as it travels alone ahead of the pack. Following the events of Nightfall and the attempted galactic invasion by the Vaadwaur, Daedalus has received a number of refits to her long range sensor equipment and updated astrometric facilities. Starfleet remains concerned about the Vaadwaur's mastery of underspace and as part of it's deployment to the region it monitors for signs of underspace threats in this unaligned and largely unvisited region.
Ascension Emissary Division
Assigned to developing interests in the Thomar Expanse, the division is built around USS Ascension and undertakes missions where diplomatic support and advanced starship services are required for smaller colonies and independent communities. Whilst Ascension is a capable starship, it is relatively outdated by modern standards and is deployed with USS Hart and USS Skofnung to support more specialist mission profiles. Given their proximity to Deep Space 47, ongoing supply needs are more easily served and thus the division does not have a deep space explorer assigned to it.
USS Ascension
USS Ascension is an Ambassador-class emissary that leads the Division's missions with a robust adaptability. Crewed by a team of Starfleet veterans with several centuries of collective service experience, Ascension brings a glimmer of a different age of Starfleet to the expanse, where diplomacy and exploration are in the heart of every officer. With extensive diplomatic facilities and a crew as hardy as it's hull, Ascension sets out to prove that some things in Starfleet are timeless.
Due to the vast distance between the two parts of the squadron, Ascension operates as a secondary flagship and the vessels commanding officer may speak with the authority of the squadron commander when necessary.
USS Hart
USS Hart is a Norway-class light cruiser that provides mission support to the flagship for long term deployment with independent groups and prospective allies. Acting as host platform for visiting teams of engineers and scientists, Hart lends herself out as an advanced platform for third party projects to groups and colonies who lack resources or capability to undertake them alone. The aim of Hart is diplomacy through action, showcasing the benefits of a Starfleet alliance or even Federation membership through the communal advances of discovery and exploration.
USS Skofnung
USS Skofnung is a Saber-Class frigate that provides strategic tactical support to the division, specialising in anti-piracy and coast guard duties as part of the group's mission. Fitted with several sensor upgrades and an extensive suite of ECCM tools, Skofnung specialises in discovering, pursuing and securing fugitives on behalf of the Federation and those groups it supports.
