USS Destiny (NCC-92600) is a Vesta-class Federation starship currently assigned to Fourth Fleet's Odyssey Squadron. She is currently under the command of Captain Demi Patterson.

Design and Layout

Like other Vesta class starships, the Destiny features sleek, comfortable designs and modern furnishings. As a newer addition to the fleet, the Destiny boasts a variety of new technologies and advanced arrangements that make her truly unique to serve on board.

When the Destiny was severely damaged during the Frontier Day massacre, it was restored to its original configuration and outfitted with the systems it would need to join the Odyssey Squadron on its deep space exploration of the Delta Quadrant.

The Destiny's advanced design features numerous redundant bridge sub-stations to guarantee continuity during emergencies. Based on the next-generation style used for the Prometheus-class, the Destiny's was built with the latest holographic technology to allow its crew to use this new feature or the standard touch-style designs. Due to the nature of the missions the Destiny undertakes, the bridge layout has more science-based stations, allowing the science department to brief the senior bridge crew on their latest discoveries.

History

• 2397: Launched from Antares Shipyards, the Destiny was placed under the command of Captain Zack Marshall-Bennet. Initially assigned for a brief shakedown, the Destiny eventually began exploring regions of the Beta Quadrant near Federation territory.

• 2398: The ship had frequently returned to Federation space when required. The following year, the Destiny embarked on a 'goodwill tour' throughout Federation space, visiting various colonies, stations, and member worlds along the former border with the Romulan Star Empire.

• 2399: Starfleet assigned the Destiny to work on a joint exploration mission with the Romulan Republic. Together, the two ships completed a one-year mission. By the end of 2399, going into 2400, the Destiny's crew were reassigned to the USS Century, and a new crew was assembled for the Destiny.

• 2401:
  • April: The Destiny was heavily damaged during the Frontier Day massacre, and its entire crew were killed by the Borg insurgent.
  • May: After being rescued from rogue Changelings, Captain Zack Marshall-Bennet was restored as the Destiny's commanding officer. With help from his former first officer, he was able to bring back the Destiny's original crew. The ship is assigned to the Odyssey Squadron.

• 2402:
  • January: While exploring a new planet in the Delta Quadrant, Captain Bennet was transformed by a Nacene, and disappears. Destiny's first officer, Demi Patterson, was promoted to captain.
