"We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us."
—Joseph Campbell - Ship's Dedication Quote

USS Selene NCC-82525 is a Lamarr-class Federation starship currently assigned to Fourth Fleet's Task Force 86. USS Falcon NCC-42047 is an Excelsior II-class Federation starship currently assigned to Fourth Fleet's Task Force 86.

The USS Falcon is a refitted Excelsior-class ship, originally launched in 2290 and relaunched as an Excelsior II-class in 2392 over one hundred years since its first voyage.

Design and Layout

As with the majority of the Excelsior II-class starships the USS Falcon is a refit of the previous Excelsior class. Hence much of it has stayed within the limitations of the original design. Taking inspirations from the Sovereign-class the ship's saucer has been rebuilt into an ovoid shape, and the warp nacelles mounted on swept-back pylons. The ship retains a visual look of the Excelsior-class, as well as retains many key features of the previous iteration of the USS Falcon. It is very much the same ship, just modernized for the new reality that Starfleet finds itself in.

Kept was the original Captain's Bar 'The Millennium', and neither its style now features were updated to the newer more sparse atheistic of the contemporary Starfleet vessels. Even when updated the recreation facilities on the Falcon retained their names, all references to the 1977 Earth science fiction movie Star Wars, which features a ship called the Millennium Falcon. Though an outdated Earth reference, the crew of the Falcon, not all of which are human, and even fewer who are familiar with the film, have kept the reference going throughout the ship's other names.
