IKS Bardur

From Bravo Fleet

IKS Bardur (IKS-117) is a K't'inga-class starship of the Klingon Empire currently assigned to the Fourth Fleet's Task Force 17 under a cross-command exchange program. She is currently under the command of HoD L’rena, Daughter of Beltor.

The IKS Bardur is a legendary vessel and has in fact been referred to as one of the most famous of the K't'inga class battlecruisers. It holds an impressive record of destruction that includes over twenty Romulan starships, ten Federation starships, and forty other vessels claimed as confirmed kills.

The vessel is 'living' symbol Klingon history. A historic legendary warship the Bardur has carried most of its crew through countless battles. It is a symbol of Klingon resilience and cooperation within the uneasy alliance with the Federation and carries the fierce pride and cunning of the Klingon Empire way beyond its borders.

Now on a mission of discovery with a fresh crew who hope to live up to the legends and have songs sung of their adventures in the deepest reaches of the galaxy. [1]

History

The captain of Bardur, in a case similar to that of Starfleet captain James T. Kirk, was promoted to admiral for his heroism but desired to remain a commanding officer of his personal starship. The Bardur continued to operate out of a Klingon starbase near the Orion borders. Ir has over twenty Romulan starships, ten Federation starships, and forty other vessels claimed as confirmed kills. Due to this, the Bardur is considered the Klingons' own counterpart to the famous Federation starship USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

The vessel has fought on almost every frontier against every foe and survived. It is said by many that there isn’t a battle which did not include the IKS Bardur. Through various refits and modernisations, the IKS Bardur has continued service well past her intended design life and through the Dominion War. As with many of this class at the beginning of the war, it was slated for decommissioning to assist in the construction of the new fleet of Vor’cha battlecruisers. Instead, it returned to service and while the class took significant losses through the war the IKS Bardur survived. Further strengthening the legend of its indestructibility.

Combined operations during the Dominion War
It was fully refit in the 2380s following the end of the war due to the decimation of the Klingon Fleet. The K’t’inga, now a much rarer sight in the 25th century with the wide deployment of the Vor'cha-class battlecruiser, can still be found throughout Klingon space and the frontier as a multi-purposed ship of war.

Again, the IKS Bardur was slated for decommissioning, however, its storied history and the legends which surround the vessel saved it again. It was handed to House Zor'vek in the early 25th century. As of 2402, the IKS Bardur was transferred and became the flagship for the House of Zor'vek, under the command of L’rena, Daughter of Beltor.

2403

Early 2403 saw the IKS Bardur encounter and pursue an unidentified Vor'Cha class vessel later identified as the Qey'Ha, commanded by Captain Vra'Tok, son of Khelar. Evidence suggested that Vra'Tok and his vessel originated from an alternate reality where the Klingon Empire had fractured into a desperate civil war, leaving him hostile to the Federation-Klingon cooperation of the Prime Universe. The Bardur engaged the Qey'Ha across multiple encounters, during which the enemy vessel displayed severe quantum instability, duplicate sensor echoes and phase displacement. These events caused contamination aboard the Bardur and eventually attracted Loom entities, confirming the wider danger of cross reality breaches. In the final engagement, Captain L'rena's crew aboard the Bardur exploited the Qey'ha's variance wake to collapse the local distortion field. The enemy vessel was broken and forced from local space, while the Loom manifestations dispersed. Vra'Tok's survival remains unconfirmed. The IKS Bardur survived with damage and casualties. [2]
