USS Paso Robles
USS Paso Robles (NCC-12113) is a California-class Federation starship currently assigned to Fourth Fleet's Task Force 17. She is currently under the command of Captain Renato Gutierrez. Her mission is to serve as a logistical support vessel for the fleet. Primary functions are to transport personnel and/or cargo for the fleet. Unlike most California class starships her primary focus was not secondary contact. She is mainly used for logistical purposes.
First Commission (2385-2390)
The first and only five year mission of the USS Paso Robles was under the command of Captain Alberto Reyes. Initially he was going to be assigned to secondary exploration, but after the synth attack the vessel was retrofitted to deliver personal and supplies to what remained of Starfleet. The fleet at Utopia Planetia Fleet Yards was destroyed. His ship was used for logistical runs. Starfleet was desperate to give support to their corps worlds.
By 2390 most of the jobs completed by the California class were now being shipped off to the new Inquiry Class Starships, that started to come into service by 2390. Captain Alberto Reyes and his crew were offered command of a new Inquiry class starship. By November 18, 2390 the Paso Robles was officially decommissioned at Avalon Fleet Yards.
Mothballed (2390-2402)
During 2390 through 2401 Starfleet had officially decommissioned the USS Paso Robles. Over the 11 years, Starfleet had scrapped parts of the ship in order, to maintain Starfleet vessels. The ship rested in the Avalon System at the Avalon Fleet Yards that orbited over Avalon V.
The Corps of Engineers would do routine inspections on the mothball fleet. The Paso Robles, was left in operating status, but the vessel would be power down. Even though the ship was mothballed, since Starfleet was down starships, they kept her just barely operational, incase Starfleet needed extra vessels for evacuation purposes.
During the Battle of Frontier's Day, the Federation Fleet was devastated once again by the Borg. Starfleet needed vessels that were not tied into the NX12.11 Fleet Formation Protocol. Ships like the Paso Robles all of sudden saw life once again. The Paso Robles was ordered out of Mothball by the Fourth Fleet in 2401, it took the early part of 2402 to get the ship fully operational by Corps of Engineers standard and sent to Earth. The Corps of Engineers dropped off the Paso Robles in 2402 to Captain Renato Jose Gutierrez-Lopez.
Second Commission (2402-present)
Captain Renato Jose Gutierrez-Lopez took command of the USS Paso Robles in 2402, his first task was to get the old gal fully operational and support the Fourth Fleet's operational mission code name, "Project: Nightfall"
