USS Cunningham

From Bravo Fleet

USS Cunningham NCC-97949 is a Gagarin-class Federation starship currently assigned to Fourth Fleet's Task Force 93. Under the command of Captain Tyr th'Shrokrir, the Cunningham is tasked with escorting starships on humanitarian missions into more dangerous areas. When not escorting ships, they can be directed as patrol ships responsible for sweeping for dangers and relief efforts. This is particularly pertinent when the humanitarian threat is from military action or stellar phenomenon, where additional risks need monitoring, or the aid mission needs protecting.

Mission Parameters

The Gagarin class has twelve Type-XII phaser arrays and eight torpedo launchers. Along with its heavy ablative armor and powerful shields, the Cunningham is a tactically capable ship that serves as an escort for other starships during humanitarian events, especially in known hostile areas. The Cunningham also has a squadron of fighters that can be launched during any combat situation. When not escorting ships, the Cunningham can act as a patrol ship, patrolling humanitarian hot spots and reporting anything concerning to command.

Service History

The Cunningham is one of Starfleet's newest ships. It was launched alongside three other Gagarin-class ships from Avalon Fleet Yards in late 2400 after completing its nearly six-month shake-down mission. A month after its launch, the Cunningham was sent to the Delta Quadrant to help with the Blood Dilithium crisis. Later, after returning to the Alpha Quadrant, the Cunningham was sent to the Deneb sector to help deal with the invasion of the Lost Fleet. Both events would put the crew to the test less than two months out of dry dock. After the cleanup operations in the Deneb Sector, the Cunningham would travel to Starbase Bravo for Frontier Day celebrations and minor repairs.

Design and Layout

Designed using the design principles of modern shipbuilding, the Cunningham has a piano black floor and warm-colored lights that are usually low-brightness. She also features holographic projectors with command, tactical, and four engineering programs built in. The Cunningham features the latest tactical systems, including advanced sensor and targeting systems. It also features the standard complement of auxiliary craft, including the twelve starfighters known as the “Raider Squadron.”

Crew of the Cunningham

Captain Tyr th'Shrokrir

An Andorian man in his early fifties, Captain th’Shrokrir is a skilled tactical officer. Serving aboard the USS Dumbledore during the Battle of Wolf 359, he escaped the ship on the last escape pod and was one of only five survivors. He has had thirty years to process the experience, and although he has moved on, he still struggles with anxiety at the mention of their name. Captain th’Shrokrir acts more as a mentor than a captain. He often meets with crew members, socializing to ensure they have the best opportunity in their future endeavors. As he understands, you never know what comes next, but it would be better to die doing what you love than doing what you hate.

Commander Daniel Harris

A Human man in his late thirties, Commander Harris is more of a no-nonsense leader than Captain th’Shrokrir. He believes the crew should focus on their current duties, not personal relationships or career advancements. He will give you an answer driven by fact and not emotion. So you must be careful when you bring something to light with him, or you may be in danger of angering him. He is short-tempered and easily annoyed when things don't go as planned. His personality is deeply rooted in his relationship with his father, who has long since influenced his actions.
