Freecloud
Freecloud is an inhabited world in the binary system of Alpha Doradus. It is the fourth planet in the system and is class M. It is independent from any other state and is located close to the border the Federation shares with the Romulan Free State. It is known as a capitalist haven and has attracted criminal organisations to its various settlements.
Overview
Freecloud was originally founded by a group of humans who did not agree with the philosophy of the United Earth government in the late twenty-second century, and pursued their ideal of a crypto-libertarian pseudorepublic. As non-aligned world, it kept to itself over the centuries, becoming a place where numerous businesses developed their fortunes. Due to the lack of laws, many of these businesses are funded and support some criminal organisations including the Orion Syndicate and various unfavourable Ferengi businesses that went rogue after the Zek reforms of the Ferengi Alliance in 2375.
Freecloud has numerous urban settlements, including Stardust City, the capital, and all are known for their diverse population and cultures. Groups like the Fenris Rangers use the services of Freecloud to store their funds and other resources. Besides Freecloud Orbital Control, the actual defences of Freecloud are left down to a small group of privately owned militias.

- Anyone who lives on Freecloud is either there to make money or hide for something they should not have done.
- The Federation, Romulans and other significant powers do not have any political influence on Freecloud and its inhabitants.
