USS Saturn (NCC-91807) is a Sutherland-class research cruiser assigned to the Fourth Fleet as part of Arcturus Wayfinding Squadron. Newly built, her launch from Avalon Fleet Yards was delayed by three months due to the need to remove systems related to Fleet Formation Mode following the disaster that was Frontier Day 2401. Her role within Arcturus Squadron is to conduct both follow-up studies of interesting scientific phenomena and second contact missions following the faster vessels of the squadron.

Configuration

Saturn is equipped with the standard sensor pod developed for the Sutherland class. Olympia Station retains a tactical pod on hand, which could be fitted to Saturn within 48 hours. This facility is also capable of producing pods from scratch, but this takes several weeks to accomplish.
