"All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them."
    —Galileo - Ship's Dedication Quote

Named after the Father of Modern Science, the USS Galileo is Starfleet’s jack-of-all-trades. The USS Galileo is a Steamrunner-class light cruiser currently assigned to Fourth Fleet. A ship capable of handling any mission the Federation threw at her. Commissioned on June 5, 2372, the Galileo was outfitted and sent to assist in the growing conflict between the Federation and the Klingons. With her first mission underway, the Galileo’s adventures ended in complete and total failure. Limping back into drydock, her Captain killed on their maiden mission, the Galileo soon earned herself a reputation.

Sunspots

The Sunspot is located on deck 5, which is set on the forward edge of the primary hull. It has a very relaxed and congenial air about it; The Lounge is the only place on the ship where rank means nothing - "sir" need not be uttered when a person of lower rank addresses an officer, and everyone is on an equal footing. Opinions can be voiced in complete safety. This lounge is the social center of the ship. On the Galileo, the lounge is operated by Lon Tik.
