The USS Redemption (NCC-78240) is a Sovereign-class exploratory cruiser assigned to the Fourth Fleet under the command of Captain Addison Faust. Part of Sirius Squadron, she operates out of Gateway Station in the Midgard Sector. After extensive refits to modernise her systems, the Redemption is a powerful and well-armed ship, and is responsible for the unit’s tactical and strategic operations. This entails not only the immediate of the Federation border, with the Redemption overseeing patrol and pirate-hunting duties to ensure the safety of Federation citizens and interests in the region. Bridge
The Redemption retains the same bridge layout and design she bore upon launch. The design moves away from the tactical arch made popular by the Galaxy-class, with the command chairs positioned independently in the centre, the commanding officer's at a slight elevation. The seat to the captain's right is reserved for the executive officer, while the left is for guests and mission advisers. While previous bridges had many consoles, if not most, flush with the bulkhead, the Redemption has the most key positions at stand-alone work stations, including Science and Tactical.
