Tellar System

From Bravo Fleet

61 Cygni is a binary star system consisting of 61 Cygni A and 61 Cygni B. It is also the location of Tellar Prime, a founding member world of the United Federation of Planets. Situated approximately 11.4 lightyears from the Sol system, Tellar Prime is as a class-M planet but has a relatively inactive climate for its classification. The weather systems are mainly sunny and dry across Tellar Prime.

Overview

Tellar Prime sits in orbit of 61 Cygni A and is the homeworld to the humanoid species Tellarites. The Tellarties have a long-standing relationship with Earth and Starfleet as they were one of the founding species in the evolution of a Coalition of Planets to what is now known as the United Federation of Planets. In the early days of the Federation, the Tellarites’ well-established trading routes and industrial complex system was of great benefit to ensuring stable commodities and resourcing.

The Tellarites take pride in their mineral/ore industry and in being a key trade partner and supplier of precious metals and minerals throughout the United Federation of Planets. Although Tellar Prime’s own mining operations have slowed significantly in the past forty years, the system’s many moons and other planets still serve as a rich source of raw materials. These are refined at local mineral/processing stations that continue to process large quantities of materials from across the sector for use and trade.

A Spacedock-class starbase named Tellar Spacedock sits in orbit of Tellar Prime and oversees a mid-range, aged but capable planetary defense grid. During the Dominion War, after the invasion of Betazed, Tellar Prime was at high risk of invasion. This close call was a catalyst for installation of the current planetary defense grid.

Naturally, given the Tellartie’s prowess and stellar reputation for diplomacy, Tellar Prime is home to one of the quadrant’s most sought after schools of diplomacy. The Tellar School for Diplomacy and Candor serves as one of the most renowned and sought after diplomacy training programs available and offers residencies to any member worlds of the United Federation of Planets. In recent years, the school has opened up to non-member worlds as well and has even had several successful Ferengi and Klingon alumni.

Tellar Prime is also famous for its many relaxing mudbath resorts across the world. Species from all over vacation to these baths for their many healing benefits. Due to this, Tellar Prime has invested heavily in many top end resorts in popular mud bath areas across the homeworld.

In Play

  • Tellar Prime is a founding member of the United Federation of Planets. Therefore it is a well resourced and populated world and sector. It is also capable in defending itself, although Tellar Prime’s planetary defense grid is currently aged and due for replacement in the next several years.
  • The system and planet itself remain a hub of trade and resources for rare ore and minerals needed for operations across the United Federation of Planets and Alpha/Beta quadrants.
  • There tends to be many different species in the Tellar sector, both because of its core Federation membership but also because of its quadrant famous mud bath tourism industry.
