Nidöe
Nidöe (also called Norborhann-3A) is the first moon of the Great Eye (the Norborhann-3 gas giant) in the Norborhann system, in the Romulan Republic. It is a tidally locked class-M celestial body inhabited by an intelligent, pre-Warp species, the Limitöe.
Geography
Nidöe is tidally locked to the Great Eye, which means that a rotation of the planet with respect to its sun equals a revolution around Norborhann-3A (that is to say, one day coincides with the lunar month and requires 17.4 standard days). This influences the climate strongly and divides the planet in two.
- The Ceaseless Dust is the desert side. It looks away from the Great Eye. It has a dry and hot climate due to being much closer to the star Norborhann, and its night is dark and cold.
- The Endless Wood is the temperate side. Is looks towards the Great Eye. It is exposed to the direct sunlight only when, due to its rotation, it is further from Norborhann; during its night it receives reflected light from the Great Eye. This causes a mild climate with a somewhat constant temperature.
Climate
As Norborhann sets the temperature sinks and air moisture condensates, giving rise to the Evening Rains, and the common received wisdom that rain is an evening phenomenon. The Evening Rains are particularly strong in the Ceaseless Dust, where a hotter day and a colder night mean more evaporation and more condensation: this makes it so that the Fanitë, the river that collects all this rain, is the biggest river of the planet.
Nidöe doesn't experience seasons.
Calendar
The türe (the 17.4-standard-days-long Nidöe day) is divided into the following intervals of time, called rümid:- The Aurora (sunrise)
- The First Bright (early morning)
- The Clear Sky (late morning)
- Midday
- The Rising Air (early afternoon)
- The Scorcher (late afternoon)
- The Dying of the Light (sunset)
- The Warm Darkness (early night)
- The Cooling (early night)
- Midnight
- The Cold (late night)
- The Promise (late night)
While these are technically times of day, it is more useful to think that 12 rümid making a türe is like 7 days being a week, but it would be correct to alternatively say that 12 times of day make a month. The Limitöe organize their calendar in türe -- for instance, they sleep once per türe, or they might schedule a meeting in two türe. Each türe is further divided in hours.
Since the temperature depends on the sunlight, the Scorcher is the warmest türe of the rümid, while the Promise is the coldest (despite the previous türe being called the Cold).

Cities
- Natirillä, capital of the nation of Rüz and largest city of the planet, famed for its domination on the Fanitë river.
- Jixö-Wä: capital of the nation of Tolebba and second-largest city of the planet, famed for its canal system that feed from the Great Mirror.
- The Great Egg: the mountain settlement in the middle of the Ceaseless Dust that is the breeding and egg-laying ground of the Limitöe. It is a sacred and non-militarized settlement.
- Durbin: capital of the nation of Earö, the heartland of the Industrial Revolution of the Limitöe.
- Uü: capital of the slaver nation of Bömalla, famed for its decadent architecture and hostile relation with Tolebba.
- Zaminakö, a little town of no particular importance.
Rivers and Water bodies
- The Boreal sea, the only place in the planet where ice can be found.
- The Fanitë, the largest river on Nidöe, famous for its large agricultural floodplains.
- The Upper Fanitë
- The Great Mirror, the largest sea on the planet, called like that because at Midday the Great Eye reflects into its waters.
- The Sbär, a large lake, particularly salty.
- The Gälli, the main tributary of the Great Mirror, famed for its increasing pollution.
- The Shimmering Water, the second polar sea.
- The Disappearing Tüwak, a hot lake that completely drains and evaporates during the Scorcher and is completely refilled by the Evening Rains.
Places of interest
- the landing site where the Romulan Republic D'deridex-class Ch'Visu crashed, stopping not far from Natirillä.
The Limitöe
They are migratory for their reproduction, traveling to the Great Egg in the middle of the Ceaseless Dust. Due to their increase in population it is no longer possible for them to all travel together to it, which is creating substantial social friction.
After the birth their whelps are incapable of flying and are carried home in their genitor's marsupial pouch.
The Limitöe have up to fourteen genders. This can't be rendered in Standard and, lacking any clear identification, a genderless designation is preferred.
History
Very little is known about the Limitöe history, except that they are now in the Industrial Revolution.
