Cormorant Station is a Jupiter Class starbase located near the border between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Republic. Built in the aftermath of the Romulan Supernova, Cormorant Station was established in response to the new research and exploration opportunities opened by the Republic's positive relationship with the Federation. A Starfleet-run and operated scientific facility, it makes use of its runabouts and shuttles to study regions and phenomena of the former Romulan Neutral Zone and Old Romulan Star Empire previously inaccessible to the Federation.
