Starfleet

Terraforming Outpost 51, nicknamed Fogg Station, is a Jupiter-class research outpost in orbit of Naroli II, a planet located in the former Demilitarized Zone along the Federation-Cardassian border. Fogg Station is home to the Joint Terraforming Project, a cooperative effort between the Federation and the Cardassian Union to terraform Naroli II into a Class M planet suitable for colonisation. While many residents of the former DMZ are indifferent to the station's presence, some are opposed to it. The True Way has declared their intention to put a stop to the effort 'by any means necessary'.

Fogg station is also the nominal headquarters of Challenger Squadron, though the Squadron Commander is currently embarked onboard the Challenger. As a result, any data the squadron collects during it's exploration of the Gamma Quadrant is sent back to Fogg Station, where it is analysed by research teams not working on the terraforming project.

History

Joint Terraforming Project (2401 - Present)

Following her second refit, Fogg Station was towed into orbit above Naroli II, the planet chosen by the Joint Terraforming Project as their prime candidate.

Leisure Facilities

While only a modest research outpost, Fogg Station is still well equipped to provide for the off duty needs of it's inhabitants and visitors. One of the middle saucers has been given over entirely to leisure facilites including a dozen holodecks, an arboretum, several gymnasiums, two replimats and a handful of small eateries.

That Thing You Brew

That Thing You Brew

The was updated during the station's recent refit to create a bright and airy space that is welcoming to both visitors and regulars alike. The shop is split over two levels with the coffee bar and ample seating on the main level with additional seating on the upper level. Large windows give an expansive view of the promenade outside. There are also a selection of tables outside for those who like to sit and people watch.

The Gelato Maestro

As it's name suggests, The Gelato Maestro is a shop specialising in authentic Italian gelato owned by Niccolo Rosetti.

In-Play

  • Fogg Station is a starbase command assigned to Commodore Maxwell Stafford, but members may feature it in their stores in accordance with Section 3.2 of the command policy.
  • Since Fogg Station is a small research outpost, most of the visitors it receives will be dropping off supplies instead of picking them up. It could also provide R&R for crews of ships operating in the former Demilitarized Zone.
  • The Cardassians living on the station are from the Science Ministry, so if you encounter any Cardassians during your visit, they're most likely to be civilians. There is only one Cardassian military officer, the Liaison Officer, who is usually found in Ops.
  • The biggest threat to Fogg Station comes from The True Way, but the Central Command is also opposed to cooperating with the Federation. However, they have not declared a formal opposition to the project and their attempts to undermine it will be much more subtle than the True Way's.
