Jem'Hadar Battle Ships in the fleet protecting Cardassia

In 2374 the Dominion Forces introduced a new ship into its war effort, the Jem'Hadar Battleship. This was the larges ship fielded by the Dominion during the war and ships of the class saw significant action in the second half of the conflict. The battleship was the true capital ship of the Dominion Fleet. While a large number of these ships were fielded by the Dominion they were not built in the same numbers as the smaller Jem'Hadar Battlecruiser but at least one could be found in each fleet after their introduction into the war.

The battleship is operated by a crew of five hundred, this includes the Commanding Vorta. A total of two thousand Jem'Hadar troops are carried onboard allowing the battle ship to deliver a significant force into combat areas and land them via transporter for ground operations.

With thirty-eight Phased Polaron Beam weapons covering all firing arcs a the battle ship had more weapons than a battle cruiser and fighter put together. The battle ship was equipped with a total of nine torpedo launchers with three of those covering the aft firing arc, making it the only ship in the Dominion Fleet that had torpedo coverage of the firing arc. The twenty-five centimeters of high density armor covering the outer hull in conjunction with the battleship's shields allowed it to linger in a fight and absorb damage long after any other ship would have been to damaged to continue.

The weakness of the battleship comes in the form of speed. The ships have been observed cruising at warp 4.7 and while the true top speed has not been determined Starfleet Intelligence has reason to suspect that the battleship's top speed is around warp 5. There is a known week point in the design of the battleship that was discovered by the USS Valiant, the ship that carried out the first observations of the Jem'Hadar Battle Ship. They were able to determine that the primary support braces for the antimatter storage system was constructed of viterium a material that could be destabilized by exposure to delta radiation. The Valiant carried out an attack on the battle ship they had been observing taking advantage of this weak point. The attack was unsuccessful, the braces were destroyed but the resulting damage had little to no effect on the battleship's functions. The attack ended with the destruction of the Valiant, a Defiant Class ship.
