Some light-years from the Zakdorn homeworld, it was constructed in the early 24th century to study the Talvath Cluster, a nebula at the edge of Federation and [[Romulan Star Empire]] space. Intentions to build a deep-space array for study of the [[:Category:Delta Quadrant|Delta Quadrant]] were abandoned with alternative opportunities for its exploration, and the facility has retained a low priority for Starfleet research since.
