The Regula-class station is a small research facility. They are small, flexible platforms focused on long-duration scientific missions in potentially isolated locations, designed to be as simple and quick to build as possible. With a standard crew complement of 20, they tend to house only the scientific team themselves and what limited support personnel the station needs, and thus are highly reliant upon automation to keep the base operational.
