The USS Americana is a Akira-class heavy cruiser that currently serves in the Fourth Fleet's Task Force 21. The Americana is primarily tasked with patrolling the area around Starbase 21, primarily along the Federation borders with the Breen Confederacy and Kzinti Patriarchy.

History

The Americana was commissioned in the early 2380s and immediately assigned to the Federation border with the Tholian Assembly as a regular patrol craft. The Americana remained on that patrol assignment for nearly 15 years. Eventually, the Americana underwent a major repair and refit cycle at 15 years and was in dry dock for several years. In 2398, the Americana was reassigned to the Federation-Breen border.

In 2401, with the commissioning of Starbase 21, the Americana was reassigned with Starbase 21 as its home base and shifted to be under the command of Task Force 21.

Captain Frederick Bowman, Commanding Officer — A Human male from Terra Nova. Captain Bowman is an experienced combat officer having served his last command along the old Romulan Neutral Zone, a hotbed of piracy and lawlessness. Currently, he is one of the most experienced starship captains assigned to the area and his experience is relied on heavily by all command-level officers in the area.
