The USS Victorious is a Sovereign-class starship, Starfleet registry NCC-75342. She was previously attached to Deep Space Six as a support vessel, charged with maintaining security along the Romulan Neutral Zone.
The Victorious was constructed at San Fransisco Fleet Yards, Earth. Captain Terran Andrews was the Chief of Starship Construction & Development. She was completed and launched in 2372, a year before the end of the Dominion War. After a year of tests and shakedown, the Victorious was assigned to Bravo Fleet and officially commissioned on Stardate 52482.2, with Captain Andrews in command.
Andrews retained command of the Victorious until 2378, save for a month in which the ship was commanded by Commodore AJ Chegwidden while Andrews worked at Starfleet Intelligence. During this time, the ship frequently made headlines for its role in averting numerous disasters (or precipitating them, depending on the reports). Particularly notable are the ship's role in discovering the Iconian portal network, at the cost of a sizable portion of her crew, and the recovery of several thousand colonists who had been trapped inside a static warp shell.
After Andrews was relieved of command pending an administrative inquiry, the Victorious underwent an extensive refit and was re-tasked as a base support vessel, returning to Union Colony and the site of the Iconian portal to help secure that station. She was transferred from there to DS6 in 2382.
In early 2376, the Victorious' main computer began to evolve into a sentient life form, which took the name Isolina. She was removed following Andrews' dismissal from command, but preserved in the ship's auxiliary computer core and ultimately shipped to DS6, for storage. The ship's current computer is, by all appearances, normal.
