Theta 9 Prime Timeline

From Bravo Fleet

Alternate Reality

"Explore Strange New Realities"

This covers information from an alternate reality and/or timeline from the prime reality/timeline.

Summary

Theta-9 Prime is an alternate timeline in which the Borg incursion of 2063 was successful, and the Enterprise was destroyed. In this reality, the Borg sphere traveled to Earth in 2063 and deployed assimilation drones before Zefram Cochrane could complete the Phoenix launch. Although the Borg sphere itself was destroyed in orbit, along with the Enterprise-E, the surviving Borg drones established a foothold on Earth.

The destruction of the Phoenix and the assimilation of Zefram Cochrane prevented first contact with the Vulcan. With this, Earth never united and the Federation was never created.

Instead, humanity remains fractured in the aftermath, turning on one another for survival. Within a decade, the major population centers had been assimilated. By 2073, Earth had become a heavily industrialized Borg world, with only scattered resistance movements surviving in the most remote regions of the planet and beyond the Earth Collective's interest. Cut off from the Delta Quadrant and lacking the resources needed for long-range communication, the Borg never reestablished contact with the wider Collective of this reality.

Major Historical Divergences

  • Borg forces attack the Phoenix launch site before launch
  • Zefram Cochrane is assimilated.
  • The Phoenix is partly assimilated
  • The Vulcan survey ship never lands on Earth
  • Borg survivors spread across the planet and begin large-scale assimilation efforts

Earth Status

Planetary Conditions: Assimilated

By mid-22nd century, Earth had been transformed into a Borg industrial world. Major cities were converted into processing centers. The planet was harvested for resources, and infrastructure placed with Borg counterparts. Despite Borg control, scattered resistance movements remain active across the planet.

These groups are located in:

  • Mountain regions
  • Former Military installations
  • Underground buildings
  • Missile silos

Resistance forces remain fragments and lack coordination.

The Borg never fully assimilated every region of Earth. With the destruction of the Borg Sphere, the surviving drones lacked the reinforcements and resources needed to occupy the entire planet. Early assimilations efforts focused on major cities, industrial centers, and military facilities. Remote region such as mountains, forested, deserts where often ignored unless they presented a direct threat. Over time the survivors adapted by hiding in underground installations. Many resistance cells remained undetected for decades due to the terrain, distance, and limited Borg interest.

Notable Locations

Bozeman, Montana

The remains of Bozeman serve as one of the primary resistance locations on Earth. The surrounding area was heavily assimilated and forgotten as the Borg moved on to other key locations. The launch site remains partially intact under layers of Borg alloy.

Phoenix Launch Complex

The Phoenix Launch Complex represent the central point of the divergence. Records recovered show that the Borg began their attack here. After building a foothold, they moved on to more stable locations. The remains of the silo still exists partially assimilated in the Borg takeover.

Cochrane Chamber

Deep under the Montana mountains, resistance forces identified a Borg complex built around assimilated Zefram Cochrane. Cochrane appears to have been preserved, living as a central node connected to all Borg infrastructure across the planet.

Key Individuals

  • Zefram Cochrane
    • Assimilated Borg Drone, believed to be one of the first assimilated humans
  • Commander Mateo Alvarez
    • From Earth Prime, transported to Theta-9 Prime approximately 1 year after the Borg attack. Alvarez become the defacto resistance leader
  • Eli
    • a Young resistance member.
  • The Scarered Woman
    • Alvarez's second-in-command

Final Analysis

Theta-9 Prime demonstrates that humanity is dependent on more then technological advancement. The destruction of a single site, one historical figure, and the absence of First Contact altered an entire civilization
