- Current Year: 2403
The Hive Universe is the prime universe nightmare where the Borg evolved from a collective of mechanical drones that seek to better themselves into the collective of architects of their perfection. In this universe the correction became more than a method; it became a belief to end suffering and conflict and free the biological shortcoming.
History
The Fall

With no fleet left to defend Sector 001, the Cube had reached Earth without any pressure from allied ships. This is where the Correction truly planted its seeds. Instead of direct assimilation and avoiding the battle of attrition, the Borg deployed a planet-scale nanite cloud into the stratosphere of Earth. These nanites were designed to be inhaled by humanoids, and once in their bloodstream, they wouldn't turn the receiver into a gray-skinned drone immediately; no, they would migrate into the brainstem and heart, acting as a pacemaker.
These nanites established a low-level neutral link. They wouldn't rewrite the host personality yet. But they would just mute the will to fight or flight response. Due to this process, there were no riots or mass panics to be found on Earth; the population was forced into a state of calmness and obedience. The Borg had created the first biological processor without putting the first drone to set foot in San Francisco.
The Borg starts to construct the Dyson Shell around Earth and move the population into the designated bio-pods. The Gilded Utopia was born with the prime goal to keep the minds occupied and stable.
Era of Expansion (2370-2375
When the Sol system was converted into the beacon of hope and peace in the image of what Locutus had hoped for. They began to expand, and many planets would fall under the newly created correction fleet. Trill was repurposed to act as an organic data storage unit where the symbionts could act as data drones in the Caves of Mak'al and format the planet into a large server bank.

Those that were not optimized or integrated into the vision of the Hive faced a grim fate. The Klingons, for example, fought with bravery, but after the siege of Qo'nos, the Klingons realized that they couldn't win against the Hive's overwhelming power. They retreated to the first city, and in an act of ultimate defiance and desperation, they used their cloaking technology and ancient subterranean to go into an age of isolation. The Hive refers to the former Klingon-controlled space as the zone of silence; they were a contained infection.

For other species, they met a similar fate. The Ferengi Alliance was integrated into the hive as logistical liaisons for the vassal states, using their greed for extreme clerical efficiency for the Hive. While the Bajorans were purged because of their strong spiritual resistance. Bajor had to receive a hard correction and is now mostly used as a tactical front and data-processing hub.
The Guardians of the Hive (2376-2403)
The interstellar war ceases; the chaos of the free-minded people is now merely a software bug for the Hive to be corrected. The birth of high-ranking individuals that were specifically designed to deal with these bugs was created, augmented into High Justiciars. They were able to use their tactical nodes to predict enemy movements. In this time Station 47 was founded; a tiny group of unassimilated scientists and survivors established a hidden facility within the blind spot of the Hive, and there they began working on the neural-sever and chaotic code.
However, the Hive started to notice a deviation in their utopia; their perfection was being threatened to become unstable for reasons unknown. They needed something prime, raw, and perhaps chaotic to save their utopia.
The Arrival of Chaos (2403-now)
Due to the buildup of paradoxes within this alternative timeline, the Loom passes through and leaves behind a spatial rift. The Hive makes use of this and sends the Romulan Correction Wing to scout it and perhaps find a solution to their mathematical problem. The result was the capture of Lieutenant Zera and Lieutenant Zora Sel of the USS Crazy Horse. The moment they were integrated into the Hive, a significant improvement in the utopia and processing of questionable drones was made easier.
The USS Crazy Horse entered this horrific scenery and used Tholian Masking Crystals to stay out of the Hive's view. Shortly after, they managed to infiltrate the Mak'ala server bank and defeated the Hive-updated Zera by using a sync-dampener and a neural ever cocktail. This caused Zera's biological life support to crash after being unplugged from the Hive, as her body forgot how to function on its own.
After finally arriving at Earth, the Crazy Horse crew was also there to infiltrate the Sanctum Spire in San Francisco that the Hive used as a processing complex and where Doctor Sel's life sign was located. Before this all happened, Zora had been trapped in a perfect life where everything she ever wished for had happened for her. But when the Hive's perfect dream started to show glitches, Zora managed to break out of the gilded simulation as the team managed to rescue her. But before they left, both Commander Davids and Doctor Sel uploaded the Chaotic Code into the lattice core, injecting total chaos into the hive's fundamental systematic core.
A final desperate attempt came from the Hive as they rebooted the massive arrays at Lunar, yet with the help of Doctor Sel, the Crazy Horse gave a lethal blow by destroying the arrays and escaped the Earth harmony signal. The Crazy Horse managed to return to their prime universe but left the Hive behind in total shattered utopia.
Major Powers
The Borg (Hive)

Federation
The Federation became subject to Locutus's dream of perfection. The brutal reality is that the average citizen within the Federationwas a mere sleepwalker that got caught in their utopia but acted as the biological processor for the Hive. However any sharp mind within the gilded cage would notice flickers or experience brief anxiety, yet be corrected by the Hive buffer system to calm their nerves.
Romulan Star Empire & Breen Confederacy

Klingon Empire

Cardassian Union
Cardassians are reduced to obedience to serve the Hive in providing the monthly quota of resources from their rich, controlled planets. But they are in secret using guerrilla tactics to manage everyday survival of the brutal correction that the compliance fleet performs.
The Resistance
These are the people that fight in the shadows to regain control over a desperate situation. They are survivors, former prisoners of this gilded lie, and scientists of different species that step up to serve the greater good. They would rather experience pain than be subjected to the addictive feeling of a utopia that is a lie.
