This article contains several Premade RPG concepts which are available for use by any member with the rank of Lieutenant Commander or higher. This is a way of assembling a unique concept for your game, based on a pre-designed story concept which is then paired with a set of classes that you can choose from when applying to run the game. You will be paired with either the Bravo Fleet Operations Officer or another member of the RPG Team for a mentorship experience lasting the duration of your first mission, which has a set beginning and several endings. The concepts are broken down by which of Starfleet's core missions it addresses, with specific concepts tied to particular classes under that.

The USS Thyanis is a Raven-class corvette assigned to Fourth Fleet.

Application Process
Mission History
Running a successful RPG is a rewarding but time-consuming experience. In Bravo Fleet, given that all members who reach the rank of lieutenant commander have access to write a ship of their own as a captain, we encourage you to try that out before you apply to run a game. Pre-made RPGs have a partial story concept and first mission already created, which lets you jump in with a mentor to learn the ropes. The minimum requirements before applying are:
Early Encounters (2400-2400)
The earliest encounters of the Thyanis in the former Romulan Neutral Zone were mostly involving dealing with folks affected by the disruption caused following the fall of the Romulan Star Empire. As captain of the ship, Kurios and his XO engaged in establishing trade, and helped to resolve issues of malnutrition and disease among several colonies throughout the region. As a part of Task Force 93, this fell well within both the skills of the Starfleet doctor and within the parameters set by the Fourth Fleet's chain of command.

# Reach the rank of Lieutenant Commander
Refit (2400-2401)
# Request and receive a primary command
Following the departure of Commander Thevius; Thyanis was returned to Starbase Bravo for minor re-fit. Being a small vessel with little tactical significance, she remained berthed as a reserve ship for nearly a year until she was assigned a new crew and captain at the start of March 2401.
# Earn at least 20 service ribbons
Once you have satisfied those requirements, you can follow this process:

# Reach out to the Bravo Fleet Operations Officer or another Operations Office staffer to discuss the possibility of becoming a GM.
The nature of her refit was only minor, involving updating many of the standard systems aboard the vessel and returning her to a standard configuration for a multi-role mission profile.
# Select the concept that appeals to you most, and a ship from one of the provided classes to request.
# Fill out and submit a Game Proposal with the ship you are requesting.
## For the ship concept section, flesh out the paragraph provided in this article, as if you were pitching the game to a potential member. This text will form the core of your recruitment ad and the description on the BFMS.
## For the mission boxes, list three potential missions you would do after the first mission described here. Your mentor will work with you to fine-tune these and develop outlines, to ensure you'll be able to keep going smoothly after the first mission is complete.

Once you have done this, someone from the Operations Office will be in touch to discuss next steps.
Deneb Sector Crisis (2401)
In March 2401 Lieutenant Commander Wallace Jones assumed command of the USS Thyanis immediately following the outbreak of the Dominion crisis in the Deneb sector.

Exploratory Concepts
Oppenheimer Station
Exploration is Starfleet's stated primary missions. Concepts in this category are closely related to the core Star Trek experience seen on all of the shows other than Lower Decks.
Thyanis first assignment was to investigate Oppenheimer Research Outpost in the Gamma Cronae Borealis system. The station failed to respond to the evacuation order and Starfleet Intelligence requested that a vessel be immediately dispatched.

The Elder Statesman
With most of the 4th fleet engaged on the front line, Thyanis was assigned this mission out of operational necessity

|Fresh from a major overhaul designed to take the ship into the 25th century, the [name] sets off from Starbase Bravo towards a sparsely populated sector to the galactic South. Upon entering sector 719, the ship's new and improved sensors detect a gravitational anomaly: one of our stars is missing!

These ships are essential for expanding the Federation's knowledge, and vessels like this one are at the forefront of Starfleet's exploratory efforts. A science ship is a place where free flowing discourse is expected, where the unknown is around every corner, and where Starfleet's best and brightest scientists thrive.

Arrival at Oppenheimer Station
On arrival at Oppenheimer Research outpost, Thyanis attempted to beam a small away team onto the station. The transport was aborted when it was discovered that the station was housing a Quantum singularity that had the potential to interfere with the transporter process and nearly cost the lives of the away team.

|After first contact has been made by one of Starfleet's front-line vessels, a second contact team moves in to formalize diplomatic relationships between a new world and the Federation, which includes paperwork and engineering projects like installing communications transmitters. Second contact is normally assigned to a utility cruiser or one of Starfleet's other light duty vessels, and it's missions like these that keep the Federation working. This vessel is older, but it's seen hundreds of worlds in its lifetime, making connections that have stood the test of time.
|Under the command of a new captain, the [name] is sent to make second contact with a world just inside the Triangle that had been missed by explorers for centuries thanks to unusual sensor properties in the area. The brief is simple: install a communications array that can cut through this interference so the world can stay in contact with the greater galaxy, but when the ship arrives, it encounters second contact teams from both the Romulan Republic and Klingon Star Empire, which are making their own pitches to have this new race fall under their influence! The [name] must convince them that the Federation is the better bet.

At about the same time, the Ferengi Vessel commanded by Daimon Tal approached the station. Thyanis attempted to warn them of the danger but their actions were seen as aggressive and Thyanis took significant damage when the Ferengi retaliated.

Meanwhile on the station, the away team discovered bodies of the Jem'Hadar in advanced stages of decomposition. After shutting down and examining the energy device containing the Quantum Singularity, it was determined that the Jem'Hadar had died as a result of the relativistic effects from the unstable singularity.

Mediator
As the singularity was shut down, Daimon Tal boarded the station, killed a Thyanis crew member and kidnapped Dr Molly Xan and - the Thyanis Chief Medical officer and Dr Sutherland - Chief scientist aboard the station; all whilst stealing the energy device itself.

|Starfleet vessels of all shapes and sizes are frequently used for diplomatic purposes, whether delivering important dignitaries across long distances, hosting conferences, or performing important negotiations themselves. This ship isn't the largest or most prestigious ship in the Fourth Fleet, but it serves an important role putting out diplomatic brushfires, especially those caused along the Federation-Klingon border by the Archanis Campaign of 2399.
|In the aftermath of the Archanis Campaign, many Federation colonies along the Klingon border needed substantial repairs and upgrades. In the scramble to allocate resources, not everyone got what they needed. === Tip of the Spear ===
Battle with the Dominion
{| class="wikitable"
The disruption to sensors, shields and energy weapons caused by the anomalous region forced the Thyanis to adopt 20th century tactics to navigate the anomaly and locate Daimon Tal's ship. Using a modified deflector pulse designed to emit Tachyons, Thyanis soon caught up with the Ferengi, only to encounter a Jem'Hadar Battleship in the process.

|Owing its origins to the Borg and Dominion conflicts, the Fourth Fleet maintains a number of deep space tactical vessels, which serve as the tip of the spear to handle exigent threats far from the Federation's borders. While these ships are also tasked with exploratory missions when things are quiet, they can deploy quickly to trouble spots to handle issues quickly, quietly, and with minimal casualty. This vessel has just come off the assembly line to join the fleet in service beyond Breen and Ferengi space to help tamp down smoldering embers in wild space before they become a raging inferno.
|Disavowed by the Tzenkethi government, a rogue commander has taken a prototype battleship into neutral space and is harassing vessels from the Cardassian Union, Ferengi Alliance, and Starfleet. Tasked with ending this threat, the new captain of the [name] must track down and capture or destroy this vessel while managing relations with these two neighbors' and without starting a war with the Tzenkethi, who only reluctantly have admitted to the ship's existence.

At the same time Thyanis became locked in a deadly battle with the Dominion vessel. Completely out-classed and out gunned, the Thyanis X.O. Harris Tan devised a tactic that would later become known as The Tan Manoeuvre<nowiki/>' to cripple the Dominion vessel. Taking inspiration from 20th century fighter weapons tactics, the crew modified several Photon torpedo's to act with delayed autonomous guidance on the same principle as the Tachyon pulse the ship had been using to find the Ferengi.

Flat Top
The resulting damage caused to the Dominion vessel detonated the energy device on board, which was in the process of powering up for a test fire. This detonation allowed the singularity contained within to become self sustaining and this then evolved into a stellar mass black hole.

Crew Complement
The maximum crew of the Thyanis is only 20 strong, and as such the needs and the abilities of the crew are both affected. The crew has a greater focus on the medical and engineering careers, with only a handful of Starfleet officers specializing in particular fields. Many of the crew are of lower ranks to the point that a former captain, Ensign Kurios, once called it a "can of Ensigns". ===Vessel Configuration===
!Concept
The current configuration of the Thyanis is standard for its class. In the past she had been fitted with a slightly more well equipped sick bay to assist her mission profile but this was replaced by its standard configuration to allow the vessel to align to its multi-role profile in 2401. No particular compartment is favoured over another and while she is equipped with two generalist science labs, these facilities can be used simultaneously for different purposes. For example: Science lab 1 can be configured for astronomical survey's where as Science lab 2 can be configured for medical research.

|One of Starfleet's primary directives is to provide help to those who are in distress. Over the centuries, Starfleet has created a number of ships as part of its rapid response force. These classes of ships within the Fourth Fleet have the fastest engines and contain a range of facilities and large storage bays to provide huge amounts of resources for stricken worlds. This vessel has been assigned to the region that contains the Paulson Nebula and after the recent disastrous Century Storm event where numerous worlds have been stricken, it is up to this vessel to provide humanitarian relief to those who have lost their homes.
|While assisting a Federation colony who is in the process of rebuilding after the passing of the Century storm, the [name]'s crew have discovered what appears to be large amounts of the ore Trellium. When elements of the ore are leaked into the colony's water purification system, the colonists began to behave strangely. Strange in the fact the entire colony's population is Vulcan. The Trellium is a deadly neurotoxin for the Vulcans and it begins to degrade their neural pathways. Loosing the emotional inhibitions, it is up to the crew of the [name] to find a cure for the colonists, remove the ore while avoiding hurting any of the colonists who are starting to become erratic and savage like in their behaviours.

This was also at the expense of having to override a number of failsafe's and safety protocols.

|Aiding the support of others is one way in which the Federation shows that it cares about its neighbours, though this has not been the case since Starfleet changed its policy after cancellation of supporting the relocation of the Romulans. This has to change and the Fourth Fleet is leading the early efforts with this. Trying to prove that the Federation is returning to its core values, these vessels are the ones showing others they are here to help and provide a friendly face to those who may have lost their faith or trust in the Federation in recent years.

Being the closest ship to render aid, the [name] alters course to provide help at once. Once arriving on the scene, they discover the world has been neglected by the Cardassian government since the Dominion War. The colonists have had to survive on their own, as such their systems are not as advanced as other Cardassian worlds. Now the planet has undergone a series of devastating earthquakes. Settlements across the planet are in ruins, homes are in flames and there is barely anyone available to help. [name] enters orbits and provides support, even though this will make them significantly late in meeting the Cardassian ambassador.

Beacon of Hope
While the Matter/Antimatter reaction could remain sustained after securing from such a high warp speed, it is highly likely that the injectors would have suffered heat stress beyond acceptable tolerance and for safety reasons, the injectors would have had to have been replaced before engaging the warp drive again regardless of whether the reaction was terminated immediately or gradually to allow time for adequate cooling and tempering of the alloys used in their construction.

The USS Thyanis is a Raven-class corvette assigned to Fourth Fleet.

Mission History

Early Encounters (2400-2400)

The earliest encounters of the Thyanis in the former Romulan Neutral Zone were mostly involving dealing with folks affected by the disruption caused following the fall of the Romulan Star Empire. As captain of the ship, Kurios and his XO engaged in establishing trade, and helped to resolve issues of malnutrition and disease among several colonies throughout the region. As a part of Task Force 93, this fell well within both the skills of the Starfleet doctor and within the parameters set by the Fourth Fleet's chain of command.

Refit (2400-2401)

Following the departure of Commander Thevius; Thyanis was returned to Starbase Bravo for minor re-fit. Being a small vessel with little tactical significance, she remained berthed as a reserve ship for nearly a year until she was assigned a new crew and captain at the start of March 2401.

The nature of her refit was only minor, involving updating many of the standard systems aboard the vessel and returning her to a standard configuration for a multi-role mission profile.

Deneb Sector Crisis (2401)

In March 2401 Lieutenant Commander Wallace Jones assumed command of the USS Thyanis immediately following the outbreak of the Dominion crisis in the Deneb sector.

Oppenheimer Station

Thyanis first assignment was to investigate Oppenheimer Research Outpost in the Gamma Cronae Borealis system. The station failed to respond to the evacuation order and Starfleet Intelligence requested that a vessel be immediately dispatched.

With most of the 4th fleet engaged on the front line, Thyanis was assigned this mission out of operational necessity

Voyage to Deneb Sector

During her voyage to the Deneb Sector the USS Thyanis was attacked by a Breen Plesh Tral Raider near the galactic Northern border of the Ferengi Alliance A short skirmish ensued which resulted in the death of one crewmember and life changing injuries to another, Thyanis also received significant damage.

Here Thyanis first encountered a Ferengi vessel commanded by Daimon Tal. The Daimon approached the Thyanis crew with a proposition as a front to covertly gather data and information on the Thyanis's destination.

After returning to Farpoint Station for repairs, Thyanis continued her journey to her destination without incident.

A follow up away mission was carried out with the aid of a shuttle, led by the Thyanis X.O. Lt Commander Harris Tan

Ferengi Pursuit

The Thyanis crew worked desperately to push the ship to its absolute limit in pursuit of the Ferengi Vessel, that was heading for a region of space plagued by subspace instability and a nebula like phenomena. After nearly tearing the ship apart flying well beyond her maximum rated warp speed; Thyanis successfully kept pace with the Ferengi and were able to maintain pursuit.

Battle with the Dominion

The disruption to sensors, shields and energy weapons caused by the anomalous region forced the Thyanis to adopt 20th century tactics to navigate the anomaly and locate Daimon Tal's ship. Using a modified deflector pulse designed to emit Tachyons, Thyanis soon caught up with the Ferengi, only to encounter a Jem'Hadar Battleship in the process.

Meanwhile, During a showdown between the Thyanis C.O. - Wallace Jones and Daimon Tal - it was revealed that Tal had been replaced by a Changeling, who was plotting to re-engineer the stolen energy device as a devastating weapon - a Black hole Bomb. The changeling was defeated (but not killed) with the combined effort of the Thyanis away team however the energy device had already been delivered to the Dominion ship.

At the same time Thyanis became locked in a deadly battle with the Dominion vessel. Completely out-classed and out gunned, the Thyanis X.O. Harris Tan devised a tactic that would later become known as 'The Tan Manoeuvre' to cripple the Dominion vessel. Taking inspiration from 20th century fighter weapons tactics, the crew modified several Photon torpedo's to act with delayed autonomous guidance on the same principle as the Tachyon pulse the ship had been using to find the Ferengi.

The resulting damage caused to the Dominion vessel detonated the energy device on board, which was in the process of powering up for a test fire. This detonation allowed the singularity contained within to become self sustaining and this then evolved into a stellar mass black hole.

As the Black hole began consuming the surrounding matter in the region, Thyanis rescued the survivors on board the Ferengi ship and her away team before departing for Farpoint station to conclude her mission.

This quip was a mild misnomer however, as at least a quarter of the crew were cadets or crewman.

Interestingly, despite being a ship providing humanitarian support to the former Romulan Neutral Zone, the crew itself could easily find itself in the care of only a old first generation EMH. This was considered a bit grim, given the antiquated unit was already being phased out back in 2374. As such, it was taken as a bit of black humour among some of the crew that nobody should get injured unless they wanted to be 'walking dead'. The attitude was not helped with the tendency of her captain to be involved in away missions or otherwise be indisposed.

Vessel Configuration

The current configuration of the Thyanis is standard for its class. In the past she had been fitted with a slightly more well equipped sick bay to assist her mission profile but this was replaced by its standard configuration to allow the vessel to align to its multi-role profile in 2401. No particular compartment is favoured over another and while she is equipped with two generalist science labs, these facilities can be used simultaneously for different purposes. For example: Science lab 1 can be configured for astronomical survey's where as Science lab 2 can be configured for medical research.

Each science lab is configurable by the crew without the need for return to space dock; being stocked and equipped to perform a wide range of experiments and research. Preparing the science lab for a new field of study may require several hours to several days of setting up and calibrating the on-board equipment, but it is most certainly 'user serviceable'.

Warp Drive System

Thyanis is equipped with a standard Matter/Anti-Matter reactor for her size, capable of an unrestricted sustained velocity of Warp 8. Her maximum (safe) obtainable speed is Warp 8.85 for 12 hours.

In 2401, during her mission to the Deneb sector; Thyanis was forced to exceed this speed and managed to obtain a maximum velocity of warp 8.94. This was also at the expense of having to override a number of failsafe's and safety protocols.

Following her return to space-dock, the damage caused by this operation required a complete replacement of the Warp drive system, including all Matter/Anti-matter reaction components and a complete refurbishment of her warp coils, as many of them sustained micro fractures due to the stress of high warp flight.

Crew Transportation System

One rather unique design choice employed on the Thyanis is the complete lack of Turbo Lifts which are an over-complicated mechanism that would take up vast amounts of internal space.
