Starbase 349, once nicknamed "Starbase Bravo", is a Starfleet Spacedock type Starbase that was commissioned in 2374. Originally built as a command post for the Federation offering starship repair, resupply and maintenance but to also defend Raeya III and the Raeyan System. Her first commanding officer was Commander Michael Hammond. In 2374, just after Starbase 349's commissioning, a lone Borg Cube entered the Reayan system and headed for Raeya III. At Starbase 349 for the official commissioning ceremonies were the Starships Pegasus, Lightening, Nautilus, Bonaventure, Lexington, and others. With the Borg Cube baring down on the starbase, the USS Lightening allowed itself to be pulled within the Cube and initiated a self district. This destroyed the USS Lightening and the Borg Cube, but the Raeya system and Starbase 349, as well as the rest of the ships there, were saved.

Following the Dominion War, Starbase 349 served as a resupply base and also over saw the repair and overhauls of many starships returning to peacetime service.

In 2385 Vice Admiral Liam Riskin took over as Starbase 349's Commanding Officer.

In 2389, following various developments in the fleet, the designation Starbase Bravo was removed and reassigned to a Starbase near the core worlds where the Fleet Headquarters was also moved to.
