Unlike most species, the Jem'Hadar actually are bred in hatcheries and according to Starfleet Science on response to a question regarding their appearance is that according to the evidence they were most likely hatched from eggs.
Due to genetic modifications the Founders have given the Jem'hadar have an astounding metabolic rate. There are only males in the Jem'hadar as they are all born in birthing areas and placed in stasis until needed.
The maturation period is only three days allowing incredibly fast replacement of casualties. By this time, the Jem'Hadar would of already possessed cognitive and fighting abilties that would of otherwise taken months even years to achieve.
Upon reaching adulthood, apart from the Ketracel White, they do not require sleep or nourishment as any form of relaxation is deemed as being a cultural taboo. There is only one known weakness of the Jem'Hadar and that the Ketracel white contains a particular enzyme which they require to survive without it their circulatory systems start to shut down.
Due to their unique upbringing they have exceptionally good eyesight much better than a humanoids and have the ability like the Tosk to cloak themselves. However, it is rare for Jem'Hadar to reach 15 and even rarer to reach 20.
Culture and Tradition
The majority of Jem'Hadar have never seen a Founder but they all revere them as deities to the extent they will commit suicide if they fail to protect them.
The Jem'Hadar are commanded by the Vorta as the representives of the Founders and are given an incredible amount of loyalty even when it seems unwarranted. The Vorta are able to guarantee the obedience of the Jem'Hadar due to them controlling the Ketracel-white.
The Vorta, as the representatives of the Founders, are also given immense loyalty by most Jem'Hadar -- even when such loyalty seems unwarranted. Absolute obedience from the Jem'Hadar is further guaranteed by the Vortas' control of the ketracel-white.
Although the glory of the Founders means everything for the Jem'Hadar, they also show a strong sense of honour for themselves.
Jem'Hadar combat units follow a very specific hierarchy. Normally, a Vorta commands one or several units. Every unit contains a Jem'Hadar First, who is in command. If the first dies, who ever is next in seniority takes over and the pattern continues until no-one is left however the Vorta have the say on whether a Jem'Hadar receives the new rank or not.
Jem'Hadar uniforms allow them to be completely unaffected by the majority of anti-personnel forcefields.
Their energy weapons contain anti-coagulants that are designed to slowly kill their enemies if the energy discharge did not. The rifle and pistol weapons used by the Jem'Hadar have at least three settings, able to stun, deliver a generally lethal pulse laced with the anti-coagulants, and a more powerful pulse capable of vaporizing a humanoid target.
