History
History
The Susan B. Anthony was one of several Sovereign-class starships ordered following the Dominion War as part of Starfleet's larger rebuilding process. Named after the noted suffragist, she was the first Starfleet vessel to bear the name. She was constructed at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and was one of the last starships to leave those yards before they were destroyed in 2385. Alongside her sister ship Yamato, the Anthony was pulled off of her shakedown cruise to secure the Sol system and provide aid in the immediate aftermath of the disaster.

Entering full service in the early part of 2386, the Anthony was initially assigned to patrols along the Romulan border, remaining there through 2390 following the collapse of the Romulan Star Empire to ensure that the chaos erupting on the Romulan side of the border stayed there.
USS Endeavour (2400)
In late 2399, Diplomatic Corps official Sophia Hale began a mission to improve Federation relationships with the factions of the former Romulan Neutral Zone through local diplomacy, humanitarian aid, and cooperation with the interested major Romulan governments. The USS Endeavour was chosen as the Starfleet platform for this mission, First Secretary Hale working alongside Captain Rourke on multiple operations to improve conditions in the volatile region. These operations were massively disrupted by the collapse of the Star Empire of Rator, with Starfleet resources subsequently redirected to mitigate the fallout.

In 2391, the Anthony was re-assigned to Starbase Bravo to support Fourth Fleet Command, beginning a long relationship with the Fourth Fleet that continues to the present day. Like many other ships of her class, the Anthony was a favored platform for transporting high-ranking flag officers to sensitive locations, and she participated in all of the major operations undertaken by the Fourth Fleet in the 2390s. Notably, she was used heavily by Rear Admiral Aubrey Seagraves during the Archanis and Echoes of the Tkon campaigns as her flagship. During the 2390s, she also hosted thousands of cadets during their midshipman cruises while conducting dozens of surveys and patrols in the Mellstoxx Sector.
Squadron Formation (2401)
As the dust settled on the Star Empire of Rator's collapse, the Federation began considering its long-term future in the region. Closer ties to the Romulan Republic and greater potential volatility gave Starfleet more of a vested interest to get involved, and had opened up new opportunities to explore territories to which the Star Empire would never have granted them access. First Secretary Hale initially received orders in late 2400 to resume her mission, but the USS Endeavour was in the Delta Quadrant at the time, and thus the diplomatic undertaking was delayed.

As of 2400, the Anthony has most often been used to transport Admiral Liam Dahlgren, but remains available for other high-ranking members of the Fourth Fleet's senior staff, alongside the USS Caliburn.
In late 2400, fresh disruptions in worlds along the spinward Romulan border and coreward borders of the Klingon Empire altered strategic concerns. Increased raids from pirates based in The Triangle were joined by political upheaval from Klingon residents of Federation border territories, all suspected to be backed by the House of Mo'Kai. With the Neutral Zone still unstable, Starfleet decided to take a heavier approach than the primarily diplomatic mission of First Secretary Hale, and formed a new squadron to face these challenges.

Command History
The USS Endeavour was retained and listed as the lead ship, largely so Starfleet could reap the benefits of their good relations in the area. But a security-focused task group led by Fleet Captain Jericho of the USS Triumph and including the Independence and Nighthawk were integrated into the squadron, with Jericho assigned as squadron commander. First Secretary Hale and her diplomatic mission remained part of the squadron, now based on the USS Triumph to work more closely with the leadership.
As of 2400, the Anthony has had three commanding officers.

As with her sister ships, she is a fast, versatile vessel with significant armaments, as are many of the designs developed following Wolf 359 and the Dominion War. In her role as a flagship, the Anthony has had several of her multipurpose labs reconfigured for tactical analysis purposes and she has fewer but larger guest quarters, to take into account that she may sometimes host several flag officers at the same time.

To support cadet cruises on a regular basis, the Anthony has been modified to include several residential hallways in the lower decks of her saucer section. She also has a dedicated cadet mess hall, which doubles as a gathering and inspection space.
