The '''USS ''Merevek''''' is a ''Excelsior II''-class heavy cruiser currently assigned to survey and diplomatic liaison duties in the Delta Quadrant's [[Gradin Belt]]. Under the command of Captain Jeynn Correth since 2399, the Merevek was the first Starfleet ship to perform a full analysis of newly discovered dilithium in the accretion disc of a collapsed star. The ship reported symptoms of severe psychosis and violent outbursts in its eleven telepathic crew members upon approaching concentrated deposits of the new dilithium.
