Like the Breen Confederacy that operates them there is little solid knowledge of the Breen Cruiser. It is know that Breen ship designs utilize organic technology although the exact nature of that technology has not yet been confirmed nor to what extent that technology is incorporated into the design.

The Breen Cruiser is quickly identified due to its asymmetrical design. There are four main hull sections that run fore to aft and are arranged along a central connection section that runs port to starboard. Each of the four main hull sections have a weapons array at the forward point. The outer two sections contain warp drive systems with the center port section housing the impulse engines, the majority of the crew quarters and the ships bridge.

Prior to 2375 the Cruisers were known to operate outside Confederacy space. These ships were not known to carry out long term exploration missions but would carry out quick raids attacking targets near the Confederacy boarder. Often these slaves would be captured during these raids for use with in the Confederacy.

In 2375 the Breen allied themselves with the Dominion and supplied a large number of Cruisers to the war effort against the Federation and its allies. Later in that year the second Battle of Chin'toka took place. This was the first time Federation ships would face Breen Cruisers in combat for the first time. In the opening moments of the Battle the Cruisers fired multiple shots from energy dissipators that incapacitated the engines of the ships that were hit causing those ships to be easily destroyed. Also during the battle the Cruisers proved to be very maneuverable During combat situations the Breen Cruisers have been observed out maneuvering ships half the size of the Breen Cruiser.
